Henri Martin, elected to his 6th term in 2024, represents Connecticut’s 31st District. He serves as the Ranking Member on the Commerce Committee, the Higher Education Committee and the Committee on Children. Henri is a longtime small business owner in Bristol and has previously served that town as councilman and Acting Mayor.

I am pleased that the governor listened to Senate and House Republicans’ repeated concerns about how millions of taxpayer dollars are doled out.

Last month, we called for an end to the ‘candy store’ of handouts to select, politically connected organizations, especially as federal authorities are now involved.

Last week’s emergency session included millions more in similar taxpayer-funded handouts. There should be no more free money until we can implement better oversight and reporting of how taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars are spent.

🚨 I have serious concerns about the majority’s decision to call an “emergency session” yesterday to pass a 100+ page bill packed with more than a dozen unrelated and controversial proposals that failed to pass the legislature in 2025. This bill also did not receive a public hearing before it came to the senate floor. This is wrong.
