Dr. Jeff Gordon was elected to represent the 35th State Senate District in 2022. The 35th District includes the towns of Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Eastford, Ellington, Hampton, Stafford, Thompson, Tolland, Union, Vernon, Willington, and Woodstock. This legislative session, Jeff has been appointed as the Ranking Member of both the Planning and Development Committee and the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. He also serves as a member of the Appropriations Committee, the Public Health Committee, and the Public Safety Committee. Jeff is a Co-Chair of the Rural Caucus.

Jeff has over 30 years of direct patient care experience as a physician. His specialties are the care of people who have cancers or blood disorders. He has served in many hospital leadership roles, including as a Medical Director of Hematology-Oncology Services, a Department of Medicine Chair, member of Medical Executive Committees, Chair of a Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, and as moderator of Tumor Boards. Jeff has served in various state-wide professional capacities as President of the CT State Medical Society (CSMS), Chair of the CSMS Council, Speaker of the CSMS House of Delegates, founding Chair of the CTHealthLink electronic medical record information exchange, and a member of the CT Medical Examining Board. Jeff has also served in a national leadership role as a member of the American Medical Association’s Council on Legislation.

Outside of the medical field, Jeff has been involved in many community programs and organizations. He served as an elected member of Woodstock’s Planning & Zoning Commission from 2007 to 2023. Jeff was the Commission Chair from 2008 to 2023, unanimously re-elected by his fellow Commissioners each year. He previously served as President of the Woodstock Education Foundation; Acting President, First Vice-President, and Treasurer of the Woodstock Agricultural Society (also as a member of the Society’s Board of Directors); and Vice-President of the Woodstock Safety Patrol.
