Honored to attend the 2026 Connecticut's Kid Governor Inauguration!

I couldn’t be prouder that North Haven’s Tessa Hallinan of Green Acres Elementary has been named Connecticut’s 2026 Kid Governor. Her “Everyone Belongs,” platform is a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusion and kindness in our schools. Tessa’s message teaches that leadership can come from any age.

It was an honor to attend this special event alongside State Representative Dave Yaccarino, Mike Freda, and meet with Tessa and her parents, Victoria and Sean. Seeing her confidence and enthusiasm firsthand was truly inspiring.

Congratulations as well to the 2026 Kid Governor Cabinet: Aja Reci, Alyvia Stoddard, Dylan Ellis, Myra Ruparel, Nana Appau, and Samuel James.

Thank you to the Connecticut Democracy Center and Connecticut’s Old State House for hosting such a meaningful celebration of youth leadership and civic engagement!

Honored to receive the 2025 AARP Legislative Achievement Award for protecting consumers and seniors. Thank you to AARP-CT, State Director Nora Duncan, and the dedicated advocates and volunteers who advance AARP’s mission to enhance the quality of life for all as we age, lead positive social change, and deliver value through information, advocacy, and service — empowering people to live and age with dignity, purpose, health security, and financial stability. I will continue advocating for seniors and all residents to ensure they have a strong voice and are treated fairly.

Connecticut Farmers Deserve Better! 🚜

On January 20th, CT Senate Republicans hosted a farmers forum in response to recent proposed changes to Public Act 490, a massive tax increase that would have threatened to put agricultural businesses out of operation.

The Governor’s so-called “crisis intervention” may be a temporary fix, but our farmers need permanent solutions, not more taxes, red tape, or financial burdens. Yesterday was an important first step, but more must be done. Our caucus will continue standing with Connecticut farmers and fighting to make our state more affordable for those who feed it.

I was proud to hear from constituents in my district, including William Dellacamera of Cecarellis Harrison Hill Farm and Eric Henry of Blue Hills Orchard, who shared how these changes would have impacted their farms.
