Sen. Sampson Honored by ManufactureCT for Support of Connecticut Manufacturers
October 2, 2026
Hartford — State Sen. Rob Sampson (R-16) was recognized by ManufactureCT Thursday evening for his support of Connecticut’s manufacturing community and the businesses and employers that create jobs and economic opportunity across the state.
Sen. Sampson was unable to attend the event due to a longstanding commitment in his hometown. His remarks were shared with attendees on his behalf.
Sen. Sampson issued the following statement:
“I am deeply honored by this recognition, and genuinely sorry that I cannot be with you tonight. A longstanding commitment in my hometown made it impossible to be in both places, but please know how much this honor means to me.
There are few groups I would rather be recognized by than Connecticut’s manufacturers.
I have always had a profound respect for people who produce something of value.
You build things. You solve problems. You take risks. You meet payrolls. You create jobs and opportunities for people you may never know personally.
Behind every successful business represented in that room tonight are years of hard work, sleepless nights, difficult decisions, personal sacrifices, and the determination to keep going when walking away would have been easier.
That matters to me because I believe the people who create, build, work, and produce are the foundation of a free and prosperous society.
Government does not create that prosperity. You do.
My responsibility as a legislator is to remember that simple truth and to make certain government respects the people whose work makes everything else possible.
Standing up for Connecticut’s manufacturers and employers is not merely part of my job. It is something I believe in deeply, and I will continue doing it with every opportunity I have.
Thank you for this tremendous honor, and most of all, thank you for what each of you do for Connecticut.”
