Sen. Cicarella Welcomes $1.5 Million for Overbrook Early Learning Center Expansion

East Haven— State Sen. Paul Cicarella (R-34) today welcomed $1.5 million in Community Investment Fund support for Phase One of the planned expansion and modernization of the Overbrook Early Learning Center in East Haven.

Sen. Cicarella has advocated for the project alongside House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora, Rep. Joe Zullo, East Haven officials, the Board of Education, and Overbrook leadership.

“This is great news for East Haven and an important investment in our children, families, and community,” said Sen. Cicarella. “I’ve been proud to advocate for the Overbrook Early Learning Center throughout this process because I know how important the services they provide are to East Haven’s children and working families.

This $1.5 million investment will help move the expansion forward, create more early learning opportunities, and strengthen the services available to families in our community. Giving children a strong foundation early in life can make a tremendous difference, and this project will help Overbrook continue that important work.

This has truly been a team effort and I’m grateful to House Minority Leader Vincent Candelora, Rep. Joe Zullo, our local officials, the Board of Education, Superintendent, and everyone at Overbrook who worked together to advocate for this project and get it to this point.

The Overbrook Early Learning Center provides early childhood care and education to East Haven families. The $1.5 million in funding would support Phase One of the center’s planned expansion and modernization, an effort aimed at increasing early learning opportunities and strengthening services for local children and families.
