“Preventable Tragedy”: CT Senate GOP Statement on Elvin Hernandez

On behalf of the CT Senate Republican Caucus, Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the death of Connecticut Department of Transportation employee Elvin Hernandez, 60, who was killed this morning when he was struck by a motor vehicle while doing road maintenance work on Interstate 95 in Fairfield.

“A senseless – and preventable – tragedy. Our hearts and thoughts are with Elvin’s loved ones, everyone at DOT, and all who put their safety at risk on our roadways every day in their dedication to serving the public. As we process Elvin’s loss, let us all remind ourselves of the preventable tragedies that result from distracted and reckless driving.”
