CT GOP Lawmakers Object to Halted Investigation of CCSU Prez
September 24, 2026
Sen. Stephen Harding and Sen. Henri Martin today issued the following statement strenuously objecting to CSCU stating that it is “no longer necessary” to continue the investigation of CCSU President Zulma Toro.
“Absolutely unacceptable.
So this all magically ‘goes away’ because President Toro resigned?
That isn’t going to fly.
What about the abuse allegations? The meat cutting? The dog watching? The verbal assaults on staff? What about the whistleblowers and the victims?
What about the people whose lives have been derailed? Where’s their justice?
CSCU: Provide reasons for your decision. Cite a statute. Stop hiding and find the systemic gaps.
Clearly, we need an independent 3rd party investigation of what has gone on.
And even more questions remain:
CSCU is classifying Toro’s departure as a ‘retirement’. Toro enrolled in an “Alternate Retirement Plan”, which doesn’t work like a traditional state pension. She could choose how she wants to withdraw money or roll it over to a different retirement account, so we, the overburdened taxpayers, don’t know how much she will be getting paid?
It’s our money.
Where’s the transparency?
Where’s the accountability?”
