“That’s IT?” Sen. Harding Statement on CT Dems’ Proposals “To Lower Electricity Rates”
June 10, 2026
Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding today’s policy proposals from the governor and legislative Democrats “to lower electricity rates”:
“That’s IT?
Gov. Lamont, just like every single state Senate Democrat, opposes removing the hidden ‘public benefits’ tax from your electric bills.
He – and they – therefore oppose lowering ratepayers’ electricity bills by hundreds of dollars per year.
And what happened to the $400 ‘energy rebates’ for Connecticut families that the governor proposed in February?
Here’s what Gov. Lamont and Senate Democrats won’t say:
Democrat policies have made Connecticut the second highest in the nation for electricity costs, and it looks like we’ll soon be number one.”
