May 21, 2026
Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the CSCU system completely redacting a public document which details what former CSCU Chancellor Terrence Cheng is doing with Connecticut taxpayer dollars. “You simply cannot make this stuff up.
Former Chancellor Cheng makes $440,000 a year. Doing what? We have no idea.
This document cost $400,000 to create…and we, the taxpayers, can’t see it?
What an insult. Yet another slap in the face to students, their families, CSCU employees and state taxpayers.
Yet another addition to the CSCU scandal saga that Gov. Lamont has let fester. He needs to order the release of this document.
The Senate Republican Caucus will continue demanding accountability and transparency, which seems in very short supply these days at the listless, leaderless, scandal-laden CSCU system.”
