Sen. Paul Cicarella Honors Novel Aero as SBA Exporter of the Year

Wallingford– State Sen. Paul Cicarella (R-34) today joined federal, state, and local leaders in recognizing Novel Aero and its President & CEO, Yoganandan “Yogi” Tharinibalan, as the 2026 National Small Business Exporter of the Year, an honor presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration during National Small Business Week.

The event, held at Novel Aero’s headquarters in Wallingford, brought together regional business leaders to celebrate the company’s achievements in advanced aerospace manufacturing and global trade.

Sen. Cicarella presented an official state citation to Yogi Tharinibalan of Novel Aero, commending the company’s leadership, innovation, and impact on Connecticut’s economy.

“It is an honor to recognize Yogi Tharinibalan for this outstanding achievement,” said Sen. Cicarella. “His commitment to excellence in aerospace manufacturing and their success in expanding into international markets exemplify the ingenuity and determination that define Connecticut’s small business community. Companies like Novel Aero are not only creating jobs here at home but are also strengthening our state’s reputation on the global stage.”

The citation formally acknowledged Yoganandan Tharinibalan:

Under Tharinibalan’s leadership, Novel Aero has grown into a key player in the aerospace industry, exporting to more than 10 countries and contributing to both regional economic development and national competitiveness.

“When a company like Novel Aero succeeds, it lifts up our workforce, our communities, and our future,” Sen. Cicarella added.

The recognition was part of the SBA’s longstanding National Small Business Week tradition, which celebrates the vital contributions of entrepreneurs across the country.
