CT Dems Defend $442 K/Year No-Show; Vote Against Meals on Wheels Homebound Seniors - CT Senate Republic

Sen. Stephen Harding and all members of the Senate Republican Caucus today voted in favor of defunding former Connecticut State Universities System Chancellor Terrence Cheng’s $442,000 salary and instead allocating that sum of money to Meals on Wheels in order to help homebound seniors. “All Senate Democrats today voted against helping needy seniors while instead supporting a $442,000 salaried no-show, sham job,” Sen. Harding said. “Senate Democrats are now all on record for backing someone who works remotely from his New York home, who supervises no one, who doesn’t have to attend meetings to ‘advise’ the CSCU board as its ‘Strategic Advisor’, and who stole money from the taxpayers by using his state credit card to dine on succulent $60 steaks and get chauffeured rides. It’s arrogance. It’s disrespectful. It’s embarrassing. It’s also your state tax dollars at work under one-party Democrat rule. Can’t afford Connecticut…can’t afford Connecticut Democrats.”
