CT Senate GOP Statement on CT Now #2 in U.S. for Highest Electricity Costs - CT Senate Republic

On behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus, Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding Connecticut taking 2nd place for the highest average annual electricity costs in the nation, falling just behind Hawaii, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

“Keep voting for Democrats, Connecticut, and we’ll be number one soon.

Amazingly, we have overtaken Hawaii, which is an island.

Working families feel the pain every time they open their monthly bills. That pain will only get worse until we start changing our state policies and state policymakers.

A good start this year would be to eliminate the hidden public benefits taxes on our too-damn-high electricity bills.”

(The electricity data comes on the heels of new report this week by the Tax Foundation which ranks Connecticut as having the 3rd-highest effective property tax rate in the nation for the 3rd consecutive year.)
