CT Senate GOP Statement in Advance of Controversial Public Hearings & Democrats’ Speech Limitations - CT Senate Republic

With controversial Wednesday Mar. 11 hearings scheduled on legislation impacting vaccines and homeschooling families, Sen. Stephen Harding, on behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus, issued the following statement regarding time and speech limits that supermajority Democrats have placed on the public.

“What about Freedom of Speech?

The party of ‘No Kings’ really likes to govern by fiat in Connecticut, don’t they?

They do it because they can.

It’s more arrogance, coming on the heels of the so-called ‘emergency’ session last month which dealt with no emergencies and didn’t make Connecticut more affordable.

Supermajority Democrats are the ones raising these highly controversial bills on Wednesday. Instead of silencing the public and turning them away, Democrats should stay and do the job they were elected to do. Look Connecticut citizens in the eyes and hear their testimony.

To those who find this arrogance outrageous: Please show up to the Legislative Office Building in large numbers on Wednesday.”
