“Blatant Vote-Buying Scheme”: CT Senate GOP Statement on CT Dems’ Election Year “Rebate Checks” for Voters

On behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus, Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding legislative Democrats today announcing that they are looking to send one-time election year “rebate checks” to voters.

“Connecticut Democrats think Connecticut residents aren’t smart enough to see through this blatant vote-buying scheme.

Instead of gimmicks, Senate Republicans have offered real, permanent, significant relief: Up to $1600 per family, every year.

Senate Republicans want to effectively eliminate the car tax for working families and get the public benefits taxes taken off of electric bills.

Democrats have only made Connecticut unaffordable after controlling the Legislature for decades.

Can’t afford Connecticut…can’t afford Connecticut Democrats.”
