CT Senate GOP Statement on Wednesday’s “Emergency” Session - CT Senate Republic

On behalf of the CT Senate Republican Caucus, Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement in advance of the Wednesday, Feb. 25 State Senate session to pass more than a dozen “emergency” bills.

“Unprecedented, inexcusable, jaw-dropping arrogance.

That’s what will be on full display by supermajority Democrats as they abuse their power for the entire state to see.

Democrats will ram through millions of dollars’ worth of your money to be spent on unvetted earmarks to favored groups.

Democrats will pass legislation which you, the public, could not weigh in on this session. You are voiceless in your state government.

And guess what?

None of these so-called ‘emergency’ policies will make life more affordable for working class Connecticut families.

Democrats won’t eliminate your car tax. Democrats won’t cut the income tax. Democrats won’t crack down on corruption and fraud and waste.

No, Democrats won’t save you a single penny in this ‘emergency’ session.

You get what you vote for.”

***Sen. Harding and the Senate Republican Caucus will address the media outside of the 3rd floor State Capitol Caucus Room prior to the start of the Wednesday session. A specific time for the media availability will be issued on Wednesday morning.***
