“Absurd”: Sen. Harding Statement Regarding Speaker of the House’s Comments
February 26, 2026
Sen. Minority Leader Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding the Speaker of the House’s comments today about Sen. . (http://ct-n.com/ctnplayer.asp?odID=26020&jump=0:09:15)
“It’s absurd for supermajority Democrats to blame a single Republican Senator for their ineffectiveness in passing legislation.
And what supermajority Democrats have done this week at the State Capitol is an unprecedented, disrespectful farce.
Supermajority Democrats:
- rammed through so-called ‘emergency’ bills that are clearly not actual emergencies and did it without public input
- exempted people who are incarcerated for domestic abuse from having to make child support payments
- handed out millions of taxpayer dollars in unvetted earmarks to favored groups.
Supermajority Democrats also voted against:
- cutting the income tax for working class families
- effectively eliminating the car tax
- eliminating the tax on social security
- eliminating the sales tax on back to school items
- reforming the corrupt earmark process
What supermajority Democrats did this week was shameful, sad, tone-deaf and wrong.
And now they threaten to ‘cut the cord’ on minority Republicans’ microphones?
What does the media think about that?”
