Recognizing Service and Sacrifice on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day - CT Senate Republic

State Sen. Paul Cicarella (center), and representatives from the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association, AFSCME Council 4, Police Officers Association of Connecticut, the Connecticut State Police Union, and others gathered for a press conference on Jan. 9 honoring Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Sen. Cicarella offered remarks in the press conference to recognize the dedication, service, and sacrifices of law enforcement professionals who protect Connecticut’s communities each day. The event brought together public safety leaders, law enforcement officials, and union representatives to express gratitude to those who serve and to reaffirm a shared commitment to public safety.

“Our law enforcement agencies are facing real challenges when it comes to recruitment and retention,” Sen. Cicarella said. “If we want safe communities, we must ensure the men and women willing to serve have the support, resources, and respect they deserve. Recognizing their work is important and we should be thanking our officers everyday not just today.”

Sen. Cicarella represents the 34th Senate District, including Durham, East Haven, North Branford, North Haven, and Wallingford.
