The North Haven lawmakers visited Green Acres Elementary School to recognize its exceptional academic achievement and continued success in closing achievement gaps. Green Acres serves 404 students in grades Pre-K–5, with approximately 40% identified as students with high needs.

“Green Acres Elementary School sets the standard for educational excellence,” Sen. Cicarella said. “Being named a National Blue Ribbon School is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the dedication of its entire school community.”

“I’ve had the chance to visit Green Acres many times, and I couldn’t be more proud of the students, educators, and families who make this school so special,” Rep. Yaccarino said. “Earning National Blue Ribbon recognition reflects their dedication to excellence and their commitment to building a strong foundation for future generations.”

During the 2023–2024 school year, Green Acres earned its highest accountability index since 2015–2016, exceeding state targets in English language arts, mathematics, and science. The school has earned School of Distinction status for three consecutive years.
