Honoring Fallen Heroes and Strengthening Community in Wallingford
December 11, 2025
Sen. Cicarella participated in this annual ceremony that welcomes the Wreaths Across America convoy to Wallingford on its journey to Arlington National Cemetery.
“This event is about remembering the sacrifices of our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching future generations about the cost of our freedoms,” Sen. Cicarella said. “The incredible turnout shows the strength and unity of our community. I want to thank everyone who continues this mission by helping place wreaths and ensuring our veterans are never forgotten.”
Each December, wreath-laying ceremonies take place at more than 1,200 participating cemeteries across the country and overseas. The annual escort to Arlington, often called “America’s Longest Veterans’ Parade,” brings together Gold Star Families, military personnel, law enforcement, and dedicated supporters from across the nation. National Wreaths Across America Day will be observed on Dec. 13, with volunteers across Connecticut placing wreaths at veterans’ graves. More information on how to support the mission can be found at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.
Sen. Cicarella represents the 34th Senate District towns of Durham, East Haven, North Branford, North Haven, and Wallingford.
