CT Senate GOP Statement on Office of Health Strategy Audit - CT Senate Republic

Sen. Stephen Harding, Sen. Heather Somers, Sen. Rob Sampson, and Sen. Jeff Gordon issued the following statement regarding an audit of the state’s Office of Health Strategy. (https://wp.cga.ct.gov/apa/wp-content/cgacustom/reports/Health%20Strategy,%20Office%20of_20251204_FY2022,2023.pdf)

“Sloppy recordkeeping.

More examples of government purchasing card irregularities using taxpayer money.

Missing documents.

A lack of evaluations concerning more than $23 million in state contracts.

OHS Commissioner Deidre Gifford – who is linked to the Kosta Diamantis corruption trial and guilty verdict – retired this year. Under new leadership, the agency must address these findings promptly.

We will also be asking for a full accounting of how much this particular agency spends in outside consultancy fees.

The public deserves answers and responsible government.”
