CT Senate GOP: Jobs Report Is “Blaring Neon Sign” - CT Senate Republic

Sen. Stephen Harding, Sen. Henri Martin, Sen. Ryan Fazio and Sen. Rob Sampson issued the following statement regarding Connecticut’s labor market shedding 5,700 jobs in September.

“Nearly 6,000 jobs lost in a single month?

The Lamont administration’s description of this as a ‘weak’ jobs report is a huge understatement.

This report is a blaring neon sign: Connecticut is not growing. Connecticut is lagging.

We need significant tax relief asap, and that must include property tax relief. We need to get the hidden taxes taken off of electric bills. We need to eliminate unfunded government mandates.

Republicans will be pushing for all of that relief in the 2026 legislative session, while Democrats will seek to hike taxes, enlarge government and overspend.”
