Sen. Harding Statement on Governor’s Signing of House Bill 8002

Senate Minority Leader Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the governor’s signing today of House Bill 8002:

“This is a monumental step toward state–controlled zoning.

That’s why Senate Republicans voted against it.

It had no public hearing. It removes local decision-making in the zoning process.

It won’t lower Connecticut’s housing costs. And it will increase your property taxes.

Thank Gov. Lamont and Democrats in the House and Senate for all of that.”
