Cicarella Honored by Leading Trade Industry Group

State Sen. Paul Cicarella (center) was named Republican Co-Legislator of the Year by the Independent Electrical Contractors of New England (IECNE) at the organization’s annual meeting on Nov. 12. He was recognized for his leadership in resolving the Hiring Ratio issue—an ongoing challenge for over 20 years. Through bipartisan collaboration, Sen. Cicarella helped secure unanimous passage of Public Act 25-47 in the General Law Committee, Senate, and House. The new law expands pathways to careers in the trades, creating more good-paying jobs for residents and addressing Connecticut’s skilled labor shortage.

“This bill is the result of true teamwork from committee chairs to ranking members, union and nonunion stakeholders, and the Department of Consumer Protection. It has been a long time coming. These are great careers that offer a path to retirement, health benefits, and a strong future,” said Sen. Cicarella.
