“Kiss local decision-making goodbye”: Sen. Harding Statement on New CT Housing/Zoning Bill
November 13, 2025
For Immediate Release
Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the reworked housing/zoning bill.
“House Republicans have done an excellent job in exposing the many flaws in this shady, non-transparent, partisan legislation which won’t lower Connecticut’s housing costs and won’t increase homeownership.
This legislation removes local decision making in the zoning process.
It upends zoning as we know it.
It allows any state property to be converted into residential housing.
Local decision-making? Kiss it goodbye, Connecticut property taxpayers.
You can thank Gov. Ned Lamont and Democrats in the House and Senate for that.”
