“Outrageous”: CT Senate GOP Statement On Arrests After Discovery of Girl’s Remains in New Britain

Sen. Jason Perillo and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding the arrests of two people after the discovery of a 12-year-old girl’s remains outside of an abandoned home in New Britain.

“An outrageous, horrific and unspeakable tragedy.

As we join together to mourn the senseless loss of Jacqueline ‘Mimi’ Torres and condemn this vile act, we also demand justice and accountability.

The system failed Mimi on multiple levels. We owe it to her to demand answers. Thorough investigations must be conducted.

How could this happen? How can future failures and tragedies be prevented?”
