CT Senate GOP Statement on New CT Manufacturing Report - CT Senate Republic

For Immediate Release

Sen. Stephen Harding, Sen. Paul Cicarella, Sen. Henri Martin and Sen. Rob Sampson issued the following statement regarding a new manufacturing report which notes that 95% of Connecticut executives say the cost of doing business is rising and 88 % of executives view the state’s business climate as declining or static.   (https://www.cbia.com/resources/featured/2025-connecticut-manufacturing-report/)

“Democratic leadership here in Connecticut blames the President, but an astonishing 95% of Connecticut executives blame the increased cost of doing business on increased costs of labor, healthcare, and energy expenses.

Guess what these expenses have all been driven up by?

State Democrat policies pushed through in Hartford, Connecticut.

State Democrats passed an unreasonable expansion of prevailing wage. They refuse to pass Association Health Plans to lower healthcare costs. State Democrats refuse to accept Republican solutions to lower electricity bills as the uncertainty and instability at PURA grows and grows.

Democrats run Connecticut. They control all levers of government power.

Nothing is going to change for frustrated Connecticut businesses until we see more balance at the State Capitol. In fact, it’s going to get worse.”
