“It Erodes Public Confidence”:  CT Senate GOP on Public Health Dept. Audit - CT Senate Republic

Sen. Heather Somers, Ranking Senator on the Public Health Committee, Sen. Rob Sampson, Ranking Senator on the Government Oversight Committee, and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the state audit of the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

“There’s clearly a lot of room for improvement at our state government’s public health agency.

Confidential health information getting compromised.

Ineffective monitoring.

Ineffective compliance enforcement.

A lack of internal controls.

Missing and lost documents.

All of this costs money: your taxpayer money.

It also erodes public confidence.

These findings by our bipartisan fiscal watchdogs merit the immediate attention of top Lamont administration managers.
