Senator Jeff Gordon Honored with “Friend of Early Childhood” Award by CT Early Childhood Alliance

HARTFORD, CT — State Senator Jeff Gordon (R-Woodstock) was honored today with the “Friend of Early Childhood” award from the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance, recognizing his dedicated efforts to support early childhood education, make childcare more affordable and accessible, and advocate for Connecticut families.

“I am tremendously honored to receive the Friend of Early Childhood award,” said Senator Gordon. “Thank you to the CT Early Childhood Alliance. When we work together, we can get good things done. I am proud of my work advocating for Connecticut families, expanding educational opportunities, and helping to make childcare more affordable and accessible for more people. These efforts provide meaningful benefits for the people of the 35th State Senate District and across Connecticut.”

Senator Gordon emphasized the importance of continuing to address Connecticut’s challenges.

“There is more to do about Connecticut’s affordability crisis. There is more to do for public education. There is more to do for the children of Connecticut,” Gordon said. “I will continue working on these issues with many others, including supporting the good work being done by the CT Early Childhood Alliance.”

The award ceremony and tour were graciously hosted by the Indian Valley Family YMCA in Ellington. Senator Gordon expressed his appreciation for the YMCA’s contributions to the community.

“Thank you to the Indian Valley Family YMCA for hosting the award ceremony and tour. The YMCA does wonderful work for kids, teens, and seniors, offering excellent facilities and programs that benefit so many,” said Gordon. “I’m proud to have several YMCAs serving communities in my district. A special shoutout to Camp Woodstock for the great experiences they provide for youth year after year.”
