CT Senate GOP Statement on Pension Debt

“It’s common sense to be paying down on our massive state debt, but we still have a very long way to go.

Remember: This is happening thanks to Republicans’ push to enact fiscal guardrails in 2017 when Republicans and Democrats had even representation in the Senate.

Yet, just as we are finally making progress in chipping away at our state’s huge credit card bill, Democrats at the State Capitol are already breaking those smart bipartisan guardrails.

Thanks to Democrats, we are already on our way back to the free spending, tax-hiking bad old days prior to 2017, when Connecticut working families endured multiple record-setting and job-killing tax hikes.
