CT Senate GOP Statement on CNBC Biz Rankings of States - CT Senate Republic

Sen. Henri Martin, Sen. Ryan Fazio, Sen. Rob Sampson and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding Connecticut’s scores in CNBC’s rank America’s Top States for Business (https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/10/americas-top-states-for-business.html), which annually ranks all 50 states on 135 metrics in 10 broad categories of competitiveness.

“Connecticut ranks below average in cost of doing business.

That is unacceptable, yet that will never change as long as Democrats continue to run our state.

We continue to trail our neighbors Massachusetts and New York in these key rankings.

Our high cost of doing business and high cost of living continue to hold our economy back. Lowering those burdens remains a top priority for Connecticut Republicans.

Meanwhile, Connecticut Democrats just voted to raise taxes on businesses by hundreds of millions of dollars. Far left Democrats continue to frighten job creators by pushing their ridiculous bill to force businesses to hand out unemployment checks to workers who walk off the job. Job creators know they will continue to be punished by Democrats at the State Capitol with future tax hikes, red tape and mandates.

Republicans will continue to fight for business friendly policies that grow our economy, but unfortunately we are heavily outnumbered.”
