CT Senate GOP Statement on 4 More Bridgeport Absentee Ballot Arrests
July 31, 2025

For Immediate Release
Sen. Rob Sampson and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding the Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney’s Office announcing that four more people have been arrested in connection to an investigation into the handling of absentee ballots during the 2023 mayoral election cycle in Bridgeport.
“Will this ever end?
Bridgeport?
Again?
This is like a bad movie with even worse sequels.
Republicans will continue pressing for election reforms because Connecticut is a national punch line.
Democrats in Connecticut will continue to do zero to strengthen election integrity as long as they remain in charge. They could have made reforms this year. They didn’t.
And Gov. Lamont? He could not care less.”
