Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement on Gov. Ned Lamont saying today he thinks “some agreements” must be made before he signs or vetoes controversial local zoning House Bill 5002. “What he said was not very clear, but if I understand what the governor is trying to express, he’s probably going to hold his nose and sign a bill he doesn’t like in return for some backroom ‘agreements’.
Good luck explaining those ‘agreements’ to frustrated mayors, first selectmen and local zoning officials across Connecticut.
Good luck explaining those ‘agreements’ to the more than 5,000 people who have contacted your office about this bill.
They just want you to veto it, Governor.
And so do Senate Republicans.”
