Sens. Cicarella & Harding Statement on Ambush of Idaho Firefighters

Sen. Paul Cicarella, Ranking Senator on the legislature’s Public Safety and Security Committee, and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding multiple firefighters who have been shot today while responding to a brush fire in Idaho, in what appeared to be an ambush. “Absolutely disgusting.

These firefighters are heroes.

They put their lives on the line to protect people and property, only to be assaulted?

The entire Connecticut Senate Republican Caucus condemns this heinous violence, and we will always stand with our first responders who bravely protect us every day.

The perpetrator – or perpetrators – of this cowardly act must face the maximum penalty. We pray no one else gets hurt while apprehending them.”
