Sen. Martin Applauds New Law to Advance Trade and Investment With Puerto Rico

Sen. Henri Martin, Ranking Senator on the Commerce Committee, today applauded the signing into law of legislation creating a 23-member Connecticut-Puerto Rico Trade Commission to advance bilateral trade and investment.  (https://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&which_year=2025&bill_num=5008)

“This is about creating mutual opportunities for job growth and economic development,” Sen. Martin said.  “It makes sense for us to create a panel that will focus on deepening ties with Puerto Rico.  Those deeper ties can bring about entrepreneurship and innovative ideas while boosting tourism.”

The commission will advocate for pro-growth policies to promote interactions between businesses and encourage infrastructure investment.
