Sen. Gordon Statement Condemning MN Shootings

STATE SENATOR JEFF GORDON (35th DISTRICT) STATEMENT ABOUT THE SHOOTINGS OF MINNESOTA LEGISLATORS:

June 14th, 2025

Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed. Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot, and they are fighting for their lives undergoing medical care. News reports state that the suspect impersonated a police officer and had a list of legislators and others on a target list.

Sen. Jeff Gordon issued the following statement:

“Disturbing! Horrific! Political violence should have no place in our civilized society. I am shocked, as are Americans, about what happened in Minnesota.

Despite the differences among some people and political parties about public policy, we as Americans still have much in common as we work in a common sense way for the good of our communities.

I condemn such acts. We must stand strong together. My family and I extend our thoughts and prayers to Rep. Hortman’s family and to Sen. Hoffman and his family.”
