CT Senate GOP Statement Condemning Colorado Mall Attack

Sen. Stephen Harding, on behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus, issued the following statement regarding the attack at a Colorado mall where the suspect – an Egyptian national whose visa had expired – yelled “Free Palestine”, used a flame thrower and threw an incendiary device into the crowd. “We condemn this heinous, antisemitic act of terror. The suspect should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Here in Connecticut, ICE is prohibited from talking to local and state law enforcement officials regarding various terrorist acts. Hard to fathom, but that’s a fact.
With this terrorism in mind, the governor should veto the Trust Act legislation that is on his desk.”
