“You Cannot Make This Up.” Sen. Harding on “Bizarre” CT Democrat Votes Re: Violent Illegal Alien Convicts
May 27, 2025

Connecticut Senate Republicans today offered several proposals to allow local and state law enforcement to aid federal law enforcement regarding illegal aliens in Connecticut who have been convicted for the following felonies:
- Contamination of water supply or food supply for terrorist purposes
- Damage to public transportation property for terrorist purposes
- Illegal sale, delivery or transfer of pistols or revolvers
- Strangulation in the second degree
- Burglary
- Assault of an elderly/blind or disabled person in the second degree
- Assault of an elderly/blind or disabled person in the second degree with a firearm
- Impersonation of a police officer
- Possessing a weapon on school grounds
“Unbelievably, majority Senate Democrats voted against all of these common sense Republican proposals which simply aim to protect our communities from violent illegal aliens and support all levels of law enforcement,” Sen. Republican Leader Stephen Harding said. “You cannot make this up. Republicans will continue to stand for law and order. Republicans will continue to stand with victims of violent crime and their families. Senate Democrats are now on the record for these bizarre votes. Senate Democrats must now explain – and defend – these many odd votes to the people they represent.”
