(Watch) “Corruption right in front of our eyes.” CT Senate GOP Discusses Failed Backroom PURA Deal - CT Senate Republic

For Immediate Release

Sen. Stephen Harding, Sen. Rob Sampson and Sen. Henri Martin on Thursday renewed calls for an investigation into the governor’s failed backroom deal to reconfigure the state’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority as a quasi-public agency in order to give a sitting state senator a promised state government job.

“It’s everything that is bad about state government,” Sen. Harding said. “It’s all the issues that people across all political spectrums have with trust in government.  Talk to anyone on any Main Street in Connecticut and tell them about this backroom deal: They’ll all tell you it’s wrong.

Republicans will continue to root out and expose waste, fraud and abuse in state government.  The governor admits he did this, and the Senate Democrats don’t care.

Republicans would be happy to sit down with Democrats to talk about what we should be doing as lawmakers: Reducing electricity costs.”
