Sen. Cicarella Proudly Votes ‘Yes’ to Support State Trooper Salary Increases

HARTFORD – Senior Deputy Republican Leader Paul Cicarella (R-North Haven), ranking member of the Public Safety and Security Committee, today proudly voted ‘yes’ to support salary increases for Connecticut’s state troopers.

“I will always support the work done by our state troopers, who run toward the chaos every day when they put on their uniforms. The challenges they face, the risks they take, and the stress on their families are extraordinary. Amidst this chaos, our troopers go to work each day not knowing if they will come home. They do this because they want to help and are committed to serving others. These increases show that we appreciate their efforts.

“We have many vacancies within our State Police force that need to be filled. We must recruit—and retain—the best. These increases will help address the staffing shortage and continue to support the recruitment of top talent while keeping our communities safe,” he said.
