Sen. Berthel Supports Bipartisan Expansion of Early Childhood & Special Education in CT

HARTFORD – State Sen. Berthel (R-Watertown), ranking member of the Education Committee, today applauded the Senate’s passage of SB 1, which is a long-term investment into critical early childhood and special education funding for Connecticut’s municipalities.
“Research and data show that investments in early childhood education produce better outcomes when these children become adults. Also, excessive special education costs have been a statewide concern in school districts across the state. This bill begins to address ways to rein in the high cost of special education, while also ensuring that we’re providing the best services to these students. This is good policy for Connecticut,” he said.
