Senate GOP statement on reckless driver allegedly clocked at 120+ mph on I-84

Sen. Jeff Gordon and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding state troopers clocking a motorist driving over 120 mph on Interstate 84 in Ashford at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.

“Outrageous, reckless and highly dangerous is an understatement.

We thank CT State Troopers from Troop C in Tolland for conducting this motor vehicle enforcement. We need more of this enforcement and we are grateful for it.

The driver was released from custody on a mere $500 bond. Penalties for CT motor vehicle violations must be strengthened.
