Sen. Sampson Statement on DEI Practices
January 8, 2025
Sen. Rob Sampson today issued the following statement regarding McDonald’s being the latest US corporation — and among the largest — to back off some of its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices.
“As major private sector job creators like McDonald’s, Walmart and Boeing are rolling back their DEI policies, what is the State of Connecticut’s government doing?
Just the opposite.
Here in Connecticut, the governor issued an executive order establishing an Office of Equity and Opportunity, otherwise known as a colossal waste of taxpayer money and a terrible idea. The new job is based in the office of the governor and it pays $175,000, plus Cadillac benefits. That amount of Connecticut taxpayer money can buy a lot of Big Macs.”
