For Immediate Release
Sen. Paul Cicarella, Sen. Jeff Gordon, Sen. Tony Hwang and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding Gov. Ned Lamont’s vow to “get to the bottom” of the unidentified objects that have been seen from New Jersey to Connecticut and beyond.
“We thank the governor for demanding prompt answers, transparency and support from the Biden administration.
We also commend state public safety officials for speaking to federal aviation officials.
This really boils down to two questions: What is happening in the sky, and why is it happening?
The public deserves an explanation immediately. Enough is enough.
Communication is key. Without the facts, you get speculation, confusion and fear. We look forward to frequent updates from the governor on his progress in getting to the bottom of this.”
The lawmakers have written to U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas urging transparency as well as increased federal support and communication.
They are also sending a letter to Connecticut’s congressional delegation urging the pursuit of drone detection technology funding.
