Senator John A. Kissel Promotes Road Safety, Encourages Police Resources for Stronger Enforcement

October 10, 2024

HARTFORD – Following a recent spike in reckless driving incidents across Connecticut, including several drivers being stopped after traveling more than 100 mph, Senator Kissel, Ranking Senator on the Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement:

“I am hearing from many constituents that they have serious concerns for the safety of our roads. We cannot have our highways operate like the wild-wild-west. Our police desperately need more resources to recruit and retain more officers and staff more patrols to keep our roadways safer. Our residents deserve a consistent police presence to deter the reckless, impaired, and distracted driving behavior that threatens the safety of the motoring public. I support thoughtful efforts to increase police capabilities to crack down on these behaviors.”
