Sen. Sampson: “Retract my statement? Hell, no.”
October 23, 2024
For Immediate Release
Sen. Rob Sampson, Ranking Senator on the Government Administration and Elections Committee, issued the following statement regarding Connecticut Senate Democrat leaders demanding he retract his statement about a newly unsealed complaint which alleges that a Bridgeport city councilman convinced a woman who is not a United States citizen to illegally register to vote in 2023 and persuaded her to apply for an absentee ballot that he cast for her.
“Retract my statement? Hell, no. Connecticut Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for accusing me of undermining election officials. I could not have been more clear: my issue is with Democrat-backed policies. Connecticut Democrats continue to undermine our American values and culture, making our state less affordable and less safe, and undermining the sanctity of our election process.”
