Sen. Hwang statement on Aetna layoffs

Sen. Tony Hwang, Ranking Senator on the legislature’s Insurance and Real Estate Committee, issued the following statement regarding CVS Health’s announcement that it will cut nearly 100 corporate jobs at the Hartford-based headquarters of its Aetna health insurance business, plus another 323 remote jobs that are based in other states but report directly to Hartford.

“Transparency. From the start, that’s what we asked for. Yet, CVS is still not providing answers regarding the total employment at the Aetna headquarters in Hartford. Why? Shine sunlight on this announcement so that we, as policymakers, can assess it on a bipartisan basis.”
