Sen. Hwang Statement on Incident Involving Fairfield Police

Sen. Tony Hwang, who represents Fairfield, today issued the following statement regarding a West Haven Police Department report about the driver of an allegedly stolen Lexus striking a Fairfield cruiser and then intentionally driving at a Fairfield officer, almost striking the officer who was out of the cruiser.

“This outstanding police work shows how law enforcement in Fairfield, West Haven and across Connecticut puts their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. This case involved yet another stolen vehicle and highly reckless behavior on our roadways which endanger the police, motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed in this incident.”
