Senator Fazio Announces $7.7 Million for Mill River Park Completion

STAMFORD, CT – Senator Ryan Fazio (R – Greenwich) is excited to announce a $7.7 million investment, sourced from the Community Investment Fund 2030, to complete Mill River Park in Stamford, led by the Mill River Park Collaborative. This funding will further the park’s mission to provide equitable access to green space and community engagement opportunities.

With over 230,000 annual visitors, Mill River Park is a vital green space for 50,000 residents within a one-mile radius. The expansion will include new event spaces, a dog park, and play areas, enhancing safety along Washington Boulevard.

Senator Fazio, who helped lead efforts to secure this crucial funding, remarked, “This project is an investment in our community’s health and future. Green spaces are crucial, and Mill River Park is a shining example. Stamford and the 36th District are an economic engine and tax base for the whole state, so ensuring we have our fair share of state resources returned to the district is vital for protecting the quality of life here and the future of the whole state.”
