Angry Ratepayers Attend Sen. Jeff Gordon’s Stafford Outreach Event
August 29, 2024
Sen. Jeff Gordon on Aug. 29 held office hours in Stafford and spoke with a crowd of ratepayers who brought their electric bills to the gathering. The event lasted much longer than it usually does in order for Sen. Gordon to hear from all in attendance.
“People are angry, frustrated and quite frankly, frightened,” Sen. Gordon said. “They are demanding that state lawmakers take immediate action. They want us to get into the State Capitol for a special session to work together to fix this. I hear them loud and clear, and I am ready to act. Republicans and I have offered common sense proposals to provide relief. We must act.”
Sen. Gordon this week joined with all Republican lawmakers in signing a petition to force a special session. The petition requires Democrat support.
Sen. Gordon urged ratepayers to visit www.SpecialSessionCT.com today to urge Democrat lawmakers to act.
