CT Senate GOP Caucus: “Sickening, heinous and cowardly act”

The Connecticut Senate Republican Caucus today issued the following statement on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump:

“Today is a sad day for our country, but it could have been far more tragic, and for that we thank God. We’re relieved that President Trump is safe and stable. We grieve for any who were injured or lost their lives. What we witnessed was an attempted assassination of a former President and it is sickening. We hope that all our colleagues in the State Senate will join us in condemning this heinous and cowardly act. Thank you to the Secret Service and first responders for their brave and quick action.
